Introduction

This course aims to:

  • Inform drivers of the changes Brexit has had on Irish haulage operators.
  • Help drivers to understand their new role in the customs procedures for RO-RO operations.
  • Give drivers a working knowledge of the terminology surrounding customs procedures and documentation required for the new operating landscape.

Course objectives/aims

The course covers the following topics.

  • Commonly used terminology.
  • Customs documentation.
  • Ro-Ro procedures.
  • Creating a Pre-Boarding Notification (PBN) and checking its status.
  • Using the customs channel look-up facility.
  • Using the call to customs parking self-check in.
  • Northern Ireland protocol.
  • Overview of using the UK landbridge.
  • Dublin and port area traffic management system.

Who should attend?

Drivers carrying out international work on routes entering or leaving the UK.

Duration

1 hour inclusive of Q&A (training duration is 40 minutes)

Participants

Maximum 20 people per course.

Delivery method

Online via Zoom.

Certification

On completion of this course a certificate of attendance will be issued to all participants.
