Job Title: Trainer/ Auditor

Reporting to: Senior Training Manager

Department: Training

Location: National (field based)

 

We are looking to employ a Trainer/ Auditor with excellent written, verbal, interpersonal and communication skills. The successful candidate is expected to be proficient, organised and have excellent time management skills and the ability to multitask and adapt in a fast-paced environment.

To ensure success, the Trainer/Auditor should understand the business operation and decision making process with a keen interest in delivering targeted and tangible results.

Top candidates will be innovative, strong decision makers, and outstanding facilitators of learning and change.

 

Essential Skills & Qualifications:

 

  • Hold a current Transport Manager Certificate of Professional Competence in Road Haulage or Passenger Transport (or actively studying towards one).
  • Minimum 5+ years’ experience in freight distribution and logistics industry.
  • Train the Trainer Qualification.
  • Demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strategic and creative mindset with meticulous attention to detail.
  • Be independent, objective, and self-motivated.
  • Ability to make decisions and use own initiative.
  • Effective planning and organisation of own work schedule.
  • IT literate with a good working knowledge of MS Office Suite.
  • Flexible to travel and work across the island of Ireland.
  • RSA approved for delivery of Driver CPC modules.
  • Health and Safety qualification desirable but not essential.

 

Job Summary:

 

  • To deliver FTA Ireland Training Programmes
  • To deliver CPC Training modules
  • To conduct FTA Ireland Compliance Audits

 

Main Responsibilities:

 

  • Promote and deliver the highest standards of training and auditing services for FTA Ireland and our members. Our services are based on legislative and regulatory requirements in the areas of freight distribution, passenger services, health and safety, road safety and commercial fleet operational compliance. In addition, we are supporting the freight distribution and passenger services industry meet the growing demands of decarbonisation and our training and auditing services reflect this.
  • In line with new legislation, form part of the development and design of training material.
  • Assist with the identification of in-company training needs.
  • Carry out compliance audits and TruckSafe, VanSafe and PassengerSafe audits.
  • Work with management on development of guidance materials for the transport and logistics sector.
  • Effectively communicate with team members, trainers, and management.

Job Title: Apprenticeship Coordinator

Reporting to: Apprenticeship Project Manager

Location: Dublin North

 

Accountabilities:

 

  • Work closely with the Apprenticeship Project Manager – FTA Ireland and report on progress and development of interest in the apprenticeship to the Commercial Driving consortium steering group (CSG) & the Logistics Associate Apprenticeship
  • Lead employer and apprentice interest in the programmes
  • Provide structured reports to the Apprenticeship Project Manager on prospect for registrations to the programme
  • Work to the targets as laid down by the 2-year plan

 

Responsibilities:

 

  • Increase the number of employers registered in the ‘Transport Operations & Commercial Driving Apprenticeship (CDAP) and the Logistics Associate Apprenticeship (LAA) 
  • Increase the number of apprentices in the haulage, freight distribution & logistics sectors interested in the CDAP and LAA Apprenticeships 
  • Report on development and progress to the Apprenticeship Project Manager and the Commercial Driving consortium steering group (CSG)  
  • Provide administrative support for both Apprenticeship programmes  
  • Liaise with stakeholders to promote apprenticeships’ objectives particularly to promote the benefits of these industry led initiatives’ that promote career development, progression to other qualifications and will attract younger people and women into the industry.  
  • Develop presentations and promotional materials to be showcased at events attended by employers in the sector, teachers, schools and students for example, FTAI TMS, School Summit, College events, ETB events, World Skills, Higher Options, Career Fairs  
  • Deliver presentations to teachers, students and parents on the programmes.  
  • Meet existing FTAI members and promote the benefits of the apprenticeships.  
  • Periodically organise briefings and work with the management team of FTAI to plan these events on an annual basis.  
  • 2024 target is to have 30 new apprentices registered on the CDAP programme and 40 new apprentices in 2025.

 

Essential Skills & Attributes:

 

  • At least 2 years’ experience in the freight distribution and logistics sector
  • Ability to engage with employers and students in the promotion of the apprenticeship programmes 
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment to promote the interests of the team to the benefit of the Apprenticeship Programme 
  • Minimum of Level 6 qualification in Business, Supply Chain & Logistics disciplines 
  • Strong presentation skills with good knowledge of PowerPoint and Microsoft 365 
  • Ability to work and engage with stakeholders 
  • Ability to lead and articulate in written and oral communications objectives and benefits of the Transport Operations and Commercial Driving Apprenticeship and drive towards higher professional standards and compliance, within the freight distribution and logistics sector. 
  • Ability to develop and maintain productive working relationships with decision makers and influencers with all transport stakeholders. 
  • A thorough understanding of the commercial fleet transport market in the island of Ireland. 
  • The role holder should have a flexible attitude with regard to their working hours. It is primarily an office-based position with some flexibility for working from home. Some travel and overnight stays will be required occasionally 
  • You may be required to perform other duties commensurate with your role/level.

Main Responsibilities:

 

  • Maintain an effective membership database via the FTA Ireland CRM system.
  • Coordinate all FTA Ireland membership renewals.
  • Process new FTA Ireland membership applications.
  • Manage all FTA Ireland Compliance Audits, both Initial and renewals.
  • Organise and process new applications for the provision of FTAI Ireland services.
  • Coordinate and schedule the bookings for all FTA Ireland Services
  • Maintain and manage data quality.
  • Organise and coordinate all events for FTA Ireland.
  • Coordinate communications via FTA Ireland Website and social media outlets
  • Manage client inquiries via phone, email, online or in person.
  • Maintain a regular contact policy with clients to ensure client satisfaction.
  • Carry out surveys and research to evaluate client satisfaction level.
  • Prepare and work around annual budget to achieve set objectives.
  • Direct escalations to the Corporate Services Manager to ensure prompt resolution.
  • Effectively communicate with team members, trainers, and management
  • Work in compliance with company policies and procedures
