FTA Ireland (FTAI) is set to celebrate its tenth anniversary at this year’s FTAI Transport Manager Seminar. The association has seen significant membership and services growth over the past decade and looks forward to welcoming delegates from across the transport and logistics sector to this must-attend event, taking place at Johnstown House Hotel Spa in Enfield, County Meath on 25 March 2020.
Aidan Flynn, General Manager of FTAI, comments: “We are extremely proud of what we have achieved throughout the past 10 years and this event is the perfect opportunity to celebrate the association’s success. As well as plenty of surprises on the day, FTAI President Niall Cotton will be giving an overview of the journey we have taken since our launch at Dublin Castle in June 2010 to today, where we now represent members who have a combined fleet of more than 10,000 Heavy Goods Vehicles (HGVs).”
The theme for this year’s seminar is sustainable transport and the quality speaker line up at the packed one-day event includes the Secretary General of the Department of Transport, Tourism and Sport, Mr Graham Doyle, who will advise attendees on the work the Department is undertaking to help industry transition to more sustainable operations. Further sessions will also include Conor Curran from Bridgestone who will discuss ‘tyre choice and impact on environmental performance’ as well as Cathal Masterson, Head of Tolling and Emerging Mobility at Transport Infrastructure Ireland (TII), who will be giving an update on TII’s sustainability agenda.
Mr Flynn continues: “Through uptake of our TruckSafe™ scheme, FTA Ireland’s members demonstrate on a continuous basis how committed they are to sustainable operations and how open they are to transition to alternative technologies. However, with very challenging carbon reduction targets set by government, effective stakeholder collaboration and engagement is essential to allow industry to understand what needs to be done and to adopt practical solutions. This must-not-miss seminar cements FTAI’s work over the past 10 years to become an association that is forward thinking and links industry with policy makers to deliver solutions.”
The event is sponsored by Calor Gas, Bridgestone, The Harris Group, Enprova and EMO Oil; Fleet Magazine is the media partner.
Bookings for the event are now open; the cost for FTAI members is €200 plus VAT; for non-FTAI members the fee is €250 plus VAT.
