10 March 2023
FTA Ireland (FTAI) is today (10 March) celebrating following it’s win at last night’s prestigious Irish Logistics and Transport Awards held at the Crowne Plaza, Dublin. The trade association scooped the Safety Award for its renowned TruckSafe Standard, developed in 2012 by members, for members.
The scheme is aimed at recognising, encouraging and promoting good practice in the operation of goods vehicles and is available in Bronze, Silver, Gold and Green levels. Aidan Flynn, CEO of FTAI, comments: “We are absolutely thrilled to win this coveted award on behalf of our members, who are continuously demonstrating – through their engagement on the TruckSafe Standard annual audit programme – a commitment to the highest levels of operational compliance for their heavy goods vehicles.
“The safety of all road users is at the very core of the logistics industry; a key objective of our founding members was to support and recognise fleet operations that put the safety of their drivers and roadworthiness of their vehicles first. As a result, our TruckSafe standard is driving a culture of professionalism and compliance that is supporting the integrity of the haulage, and own account, distribution services in Ireland. We are delighted to have received recognition for this on behalf of our members.”
