Drivers of vehicles carrying dangerous goods must hold an ADR Driver Training Certificate. The 3-day Initial Basic Course prepares participants for the assessment test for transporting dangerous goods in packages, drums and IBCs. Those requiring a certificate for Road Tankers must attend a further 2-day Initial Tanker Specialisation Course. The Driver’s Training Certificate is valid for 5 years.
Our ADR/Hazardous Chemical Training Course covers the regulations and safety procedures relating to the carriage of dangerous goods by road contained in packages, IBCs, Bulk and Tanks. To obtain a Training Certificate the driver must :
• Attend (in full) a course at an Approved Trainer Provider Eammon McEvoy
• Successfully pass the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport Examination.
This certificate will be valid for a 5 year period. Should the driver wish to maintain his/her ADR certificate then they must attend a Refresher Training Course with an Approved Trainer Provider and successfully pass the examination within the last year of their current certificate. In following this procedure, the validation of the Certificate is continuous. Should the driver not follow this procedure, then the driver’s certificate will be invalid once the 5-year period has expired and will no longer be permitted to transport dangerous goods. The driver can get another certificate but must attend the entire course again with an Approved Trainer Provider and successfully pass the examination.
